Two grades. Stone-milled in small lots.

Tencha primarily from Shizuoka, Japan. Shade-grown, steamed, de-stemmed. We buy what a harvest gives us and we don't stretch it.

Friday at 9AM Eastern. Each lot is small and there is no restock until the next one.

Two grades, and a real difference between them

Most brands sell one matcha and call it ceremonial. We sell two, because the leaf does two different things.

OS3

Savoury, umami-forward

Deep and vegetal up front, with a savoury weight that doesn't disappear under oat or whole milk. Finishes light rather than astringent. If you've had matcha vanish in a latte, this is the fix.

In stock. Ships within one business day.

OS2

Higher leaf selection

A finer pick than OS3, and you taste it in the finish — clean, sweet, no astringent edge. Best with water at 80°C and nothing in the way.

Weekly lots. Drops Friday, 9AM Eastern.

Small lots, on purpose

7alo is Arabic. حلو means sweet — what you say when something is good, not just when it tastes like sugar.

OS3 goes up when it's in hand. OS2 drops Fridays and goes until it's gone. That isn't a tactic, it's what buying good leaf looks like when you're not blending to hit a volume target.
